Us Cotton Export Weekly: Contract and Shipment Continue to Reduce

From August 31, 2018 to September 6, 2018, net contracts for cotton exports for 2018/19 were 18,500 tons, down 11 percent from the previous week and 36 percent from the four-week average, according to the usda report.New contracts were signed in Mexico (5,057 tons), Indonesia (3,130 tons), Vietnam (3,062 tons) and Taiwan (2,381 tons).The main cancellations were in Japan (862 tons), Hong Kong (340 tons) and China (295 tons).Us net exports of cotton for 2019/2020 were 4,014 tonnes, with buyers in Thailand (1905 tonnes), Mexico (1,610 tonnes) and Indonesia (499 tonnes).U.S. cotton shipments for 2018/19 were 30,800 tons, down 24 percent from the previous week and 27 percent from the four-week average.It is mainly shipped to Vietnam (7,552 tons), Pakistan (3,946 tons), Mexico (3901 tons), China (3,742 tons) and Indonesia (3,493 tons).The net signing volume of pima cotton for 2018/19 was 1,315 tons, down 45 percent from the previous week and down 26 percent from the four-week average, with the main buyers being India (544 tons), China (454 tons) and Peru (249 tons).The cargo of pima cotton was 635 tons, down 73 per cent from the previous week and 55 per cent from the four-week average, mainly to India (454 tons), Egypt (91 tons) and Bangladesh (68 tons).(Asian textile federation)
